Our Story – Why FloridaPropertyAppraiser.org Was Created
In 2023, the founder (a longtime Florida homeowner in Broward County) received a property tax assessment that jumped 28% in one year. Like most people, he spent hours searching county websites, trying to figure out how to file for the homestead exemption, whether he qualified for the additional $25,000 senior exemption, and how to appeal the value.
The official county sites were confusing, outdated, and scattered. There was no single place that simply said: “Here’s your appraiser’s direct portal, here’s the exact form, here’s the deadline, and here’s what actually works in 2026.”
